Pussy Willow

How about a bit of Jethro Tull? This takes me back nearly 30 years. I loved this album and Songs From the Wood. Wonder what happened to them (my albums, not Tull who are apparently still going). Must get myself the CDs if only to annoy Charlie.

  1. When I was small I used to keep little pussy willow tufts in a matchbox and pretend they were my pets! Ax

  3. What stunning detail. I went to see Jethro Tull at The Rainbow Room, so that was a lovely combination post.

  5. Lovely pictures. Pussy Willow always means spring to me. I very rarely see it here now growing locally but you can get branches in a flower shop. Love Jethro Tull:)

  9. Such lovely photos.
Pussy willow and catkins always remind me of spring when I was at infant school. We always had a jug full in the classroom.

  11. Thanks Sue, now have recipe. Googled Moseley RC, son and husband and son very interested, anyone wearing red&black is ok with them. Sonny Bill plays for our local club Belfast and the Crusaders have their first game since the earthquake Friday night, we can't wait,no game last week due to you know what, small loss to the Blues week before.......everyone will be watching, well those with power, tomorrow night.......they better win.

I worry about Magic Bean though.

  16. How funny -my girls still do as Magic Bean did. They call them furbees (I think there might be a toy with this name too) and throughout the year I find them disintegrating under beds, behind radiators and in little match boxes, not to mention in pockets and sometimes even shoes (caravans apparently).

  17. Beautiful photos - I don't think I've looked at pussy willow in such detail before.

Like Scarlettina, they also remind me of junior school, probably because they were associated with Easter and all the painting eggs and cards and pictures for Mums and Dads.

  21. I don't own any Jethro Tull and this is a bad thing and must be rectified. Actually, that's not strictly true, I do have Ring Out Those Solstice Bells on a Christmas compilation CD. Doesn't really count does it?
