Simple Saturday Pleasures

Flowers from my garden.

A handmade loaf

A new pudding idea - coconut creams inspired by a Nigella Lawson recipe. Equal quantities of double cream and thick creamy yogurt, some desiccated coconut and a bit of sugar. Whip together, pour into little pots, sprinkle with muscovado sugar and refrigerate. Make them well ahead so that the coconut softens. A roaring success.

  1. Your flowers are beautiful. Your loaf of bread looks very good, it looks like you have it down to a science. I would love it if you would share the recipe and perhaps if you don't mind I could put it on my food blog. I have made myself a challenge to not buy store bought bread and need as many recipes in my box as I can get. (haven't actually started challenge yet).

  2. Your flowers are beautiful. Am impressed that you are making all your own bread even in this heat. the pudding looks very yummy, might give it a go later in the week.

  3. Your bread looks scrumptious. I am really wishing that I had double cream at the moment as your puddings look divine. We love creamy, coconuty things. I will definitely be picking up some cream soon. Thanks for the idea.

  4. Just popped in to say hi! I saw the name of your blog at Attic 24 and as a fan of the quince tree I thought I'd have a look. Our own quince trees are looking very forlorn and leaf less as we are in the midst of winter here. It was nice to see yours and remember that it will once again be looking gorgeous! Lovely roses too. Hope you are having a happy weekend, see you again xo

  7. What lovely flowers and very yummy food, I love your blog gets me all inspired. Must tell you I made the 'After Eight' biscs, oh my they are so scrummy and not many left either. I see I will have to make another batch soon.
    Have a wonderful day.
