Small Delights (IV)

Blueberry yogurt pancakes with maple syrup. A delicious weekend breakfast.

The forsythia is beginning to bloom.

And the quince is budding.

Everything is so very green.

The sun felt warm on my face today. So very welcome.

It was our wedding anniversary today -19 years. That much? Good heavens. We went to the pub for lunch.

George passed his driving test. Third time lucky. Big delight not small delight.

  1. My parents never celebrated their wedding anniversary or birthdays. I have taken a different approach. I believe there is much to be gained by making a substantial fuss over these dates. This teaches the family members about the bonds that hold a family together in a loving and caring environment. We have been married for 37 years and we celebrate that date, Mother's and Father's Days, Easter, Birthdays, Christmas, and more with the family. We rarely go out for these occasions. I hope your family learns by your leadership just what family life really means, and what a married life means too. You seem to be very happy to be married and to have a family. An achievement to be proud of.

  2. It's sunny here too, but bloody cold. Minus 10 degrees Celcius. I'd give anything to see a few forsythia buds around here.

  3. Lovely, fresh, Spring photos. Congrats on the wedding anniversary. We've done 40 (!) years, with many ups and downs! Always handy to have offspring that can drive! X

Thirty six years ago we were doing the same thing on the same day as you were doing nineteen years ago and have spent thirty six years thinking why did we get married in such a cold dismal month!

  9. Happy anniversary! I wish we had a forsythia. I grew up with one and they are to me a spring essential. Love the pic of the pub, the fire and the pint! Beautiful day today, so I can't find any more excuses not to get out into the garden for a spot of much needed weeding! Jen

  14. Happy Anniversary!

You've given us the gift of another fab post. Those pancakes looks much more delish than my morning's oatmeal...even if the oatmeal seemed quite all right until I saw the pancakes.

Every picture added to the fun. Congrats also to the new license holder.

  17. Green. Hmm. Nope, not familiar with that color. Unless it's the green of the envious expression on my face. All is still brown here, and soon to be white. Twelve degrees F for the smaller lad's birthday on Sunday. I'm DONE with it. (Happy anniversary and congrats to the new driver.)
