Birthday Cake

Younger son turned fourteen today.
More shiny gadgets to add to his collection and a big chocolatey cake.

I'm all about balanced meals, so before we ate the cake we had fish and chips from the chip shop.

  1. Fish & Chips from the chippy was always the best treat for birthdays all except one of them, son number three, he always prefered homemade Lasagna for his birthday treat!

  9. Chocolate is made from beans - one of your five a day. And yes, there was ketchup for vitamins.

  15. It's the bold highlighting throughout the text! I find it very distracting and almost impossible to read the sentence around it because it leaps off the page.

Cake, fish & chips sounds a perfect way to celebrate a birthday.

We have one on Thursday this week - eldest is 15 - I have a feeling that his ideal birthday meal with involved sausages!

  20. Well done for catching those birthday candles. In my experience, they dissolve into nothing before you've even got them blown out.
